The story of a family business that puts people first
First registered by Lynn and Stephen Hall in March 2002, Purewater storage Ltd was born.Manufacturing industrial products in GRP was in the family history with Stephen's father Ken Hall being a long-term manager at Reliant Motor Company Ltd and later running and owning a small GRP fabrication company before selling the business in 1999.
Production begins - 2002
In May 2002 production began in a small farm building on the outskirts of Tamworth, Lynn and Stephen were joined by Ken and one other.
Jason Hall, son of Lynn and Stephen, joined 3 weeks later with zero experience in the industry and the hard work began.
During the first few years the learning curve was steep. Purewater specialised in the manufacture and installation of cold water storage tanks, steadily gaining traction within the industry as the company began to grow.
The Family Grows 2006-2012
The Purewater team also grew steadily, from the initial core of 5 up to 20 employees by 2006.
In 2008 the banking crisis and subsequent recession had an impact, but the company reacted promptly and was able to ride out the storm. Growth continued and Purewater became recognised as a reliable manufacturer of high quality products. The product line was expanded and now comprised of a comprehensive range of one and two piece moulded tanks, sectional tanks and enclosures to house water storage tanks and associated plant and equipment.
The team continued to grow, employing 30 members of staff by 2012, all of which were well trained and by now, fully experienced. The team now included directly employed sectional tank assembly engineers working on site all around the UK.
Everyone felt the impact of the Covid pandemic in 2020 and initially Purewater decided to furlough all team members in order to protect the staff and the company itself.
It was soon apparent that Purewater was needed in the industry and the company was issued with notices to continue production. Supplying, as Purewater does, the NHS amongst other healthcare sectors. The supply of products was essential at this time and slowly people returned to work as production was ramped up. Within 6 months everyone had returned and with great pride was felt that the team members that didn't qualify for furlough were all also back at Purewater.
A New Beginning
After 19 years on the outskirts of Tamworth a big decision was made to invest £1,000,000 into a new state of the art facility in the Industrial area in Tamworth in Staffordshire.
Overseen by team members Craig and Stephen the new facility was made ready for the Purewater team to move into on the 1st of August.
135 articulated lorry trips later we in were in the new facility with Jason staying with production on the original site until the very last day of the move. The team were incredibly proud of the fact that only two days of production were lost during the process of moving sites.
Since the company relocated to the Tamworth site growth has been substantial. The new facility allowing state of the art production methods incorporating up to date technology in a clean working environment providing a healthier and more wholesome working experience for the team.
The Purewater team, at the time of writing, is 53 members strong, Jason Hall, by now the Managing Director of the company has assembled a strong and dynamic management team around him. The company now employs specialists in Sales and marketing, 3d design using SolidWorks systems, graphic design and branding including the production of in-house promotional E-brochures and technical data sheets, web design and a great deal more. The management team are well trained with continuous personal and professional development forming an important part of their role.
