The MAC 3 Key 3-5 Mounted Level Switch is the most universally used float switch in the world for the automation of pumps and storage tanks, with its size making it versatile for any application. It is highly reliable and can be utilised in many variations in accordance with the requirements of each installation.
To ensure the efficient function of the appliance it is necessary to secure the cable within the cable gland which is fitted to the tank lid as illustrated in figures no.5 and 6. The length of the cable section between the fixture point of the same and the regulator body, determines the total extension of the float and the consequent distances between the pump stopping and starting level. It is also necessary to check that the float is not obsructed during its run. During installation joins to the level regulator cable must not be made under any circumstances. Any cable jointing must be made outside the tank and never be immersed in water.
For correct counterweight installation refer to the following procedure as illustrated in figure no.7 1. Insert the cable into the counterweight, from the conical end turning it as you do so. This will result in the detachment of the plastic ring inserted in the opposite end, if necessary prise it out using a screwdriver. Place the ring at the point of the cable where the counterweight is to be fixed. 2. Fix the counterweight on the ring using moderate pressure and turning it.
For correct product installation refer to wiring diagrams in figures no. 1-2 (Single function floats with earth) and figures no. 3-4 (double function floats without earth). The floats with dual function can be used for filling (fig. 2,4) or emptying (fig. 1,3) according to the connections made between the terminals of the microswitch and the cable. Always disconnect the power supply from the main power panel before undertaking any operations on the float.
